Dear Siblings in Christ,
Based on the spike in cases both locally and nationwide, all three churches have decided to temporarily stop in-person worship. The sessions and Parish council will meet before December 20 to review the numbers and make the decision at that time of what to do next.
We will live-stream and record the weekly Parish worship at Paola each Sunday at 11 AM. This service is streamed live and is also recorded at that time and will be available for viewing anytime from the Paola YouTube channel. This time is open for anyone to attend, provided we don’t get too many people and everyone present follows Covid-19 safety guidelines.
This decision was not made lightly but was made with everyone’s best interest in heart and mind and with the help and guidance of the Holy Spirit. It is in times like these that we must remember that the church is not a building; instead, a church, God’s church, is actually its people, and although we might not be able to meet where we want to meet, we can still meet virtually or together in Paola.
These services are New Hope worship services and will need help from each parish church family to make them successful in bringing glory to God. If you would like to assist with lighting the Advent candles or being the liturgist, please let me or your church office know.
As I have said since the beginning of this pandemic, we will, with God’s help, make it through this, and we will, with God’s help, one day again fellowship the way we love to fellowship. Until then, we must have faith in God and know that God is truly in control.
Please let your Parish Council members or your Session members or myself know if you’ve any comments, questions, concerns or suggestions.
Please stay safe and well.
Blessings and peace,
